Fired up from an INCREDIBLE set in The Pussy Parlour at Glastonbury the weekend before last, Ninja Tune singing Sampa The Great has announced her new album The Return. Powered by an infectious beat, lead single 'OMG' sees Sampa at her lyrical best, dealing with the disconnect between different cultures and taking the opportunity to to get reacquainted with her roots. Having intentionally shot the video between South Africa and Botswana, the colourful Sanjay De Silva directed clip is a homecoming of sorts, featuring appearances of Sampa's friends and family, including her parents. Sampa explained, “I got to do something that I’ve never done before, which is to have my parents in one of my music videos. This is the first time they have been involved in my music at this level and it was important for me to express accepting and flexing my culture with the two people who know me most!” The Return will be released on the 13th of September. -Holly Mullineaux
